Happy New Year from Blue Dress Press
Hi everyone,
Feels like it has been ages since I have posted anything on the blog. The holidays have come and gone and I hope everyone had an enjoyable season with friends and family.
Blue Dress Press will start getting ramped up again with new designs towards the end of January 2010 with some Valentines postcards to boot!
Also I am hoping to get up more product pom pom’s — which I missed for the holiday season. One of my favorite’s is Angela Flynn’s Simply Silouette wrapping paper – but this product can be purchased for any occasion!

May your New Year be filled with many memorable moments!

Below we have composed a list of tips and tricks for your 2009 holiday card. Regardless whether you are hiring a professinal photographer we can guide you on a holiday card that captures your friends and family’s attention!
What can you do to make your card stand out:
- Include a short personal message
- in selecting photos for your photo card, why not send a “fun photo” instead of the traditional pose?
- send your cards early! it’s a well known fact that the first received holiday cards make it up on the fridge!
- send a card with a photo collage option, including photos from throughout the year or a fun family vacation
- include a matching return address sticker
If a professional photographer is not in the budget this holiday season, what are a few tips and tricks for a great photo?
- make it FUN!
- Snap away! Digital camera’s provide you the opportunity to take lots of shots!
- in dressing for photos, avoid matching everyone’s clothing. instead, try coordinating within a color family. if all else fails, you can always trn your photos black and white!
- borrow a neighbor or a tripod and set up your photo shoot for early evening. the lighting is flattering, but still light enough that you can turn off the flash.
- rather than using a traditional “holiday photo” gather some favorite shots from throughout the year. we have many photo collage options!
Fun alternatives to a traditional holiday letter:
- include a favorite holiday recipe card with your holiday card (grandma’s famous peanut brittle, mom’s homemade apple pie recipe)
- share your family favorites:
– christmas carols
– holiday treats
– wishes for the new year
– a favorite quote or verse
– funny kid quotes from throughout the year

Custom Wedding Suite – Brings focus to the big event!
We were excited to work with Anne and Mike on their wedding invitation. They really liked the wheat invite, but wanted a few color changes. Orange and Purple! It set the stage for the event. With the help of the the Galanti friends and family plus the sharp eye photography of Tiffany and Ishiguro of Style-Ish photography the fairy tale wedding had it’s happy ending. It was indeed a kissing story.
